The Lying Game by Ruth Ware is definitely a diamond in the rough. Again, I’m a picky bitch and I tried reading her other book In a Dark, Dark Wood and could barely convince myself to finish it (don’t worry, most people actually liked that book). In my opinion, Ware perfected storytelling with this novel. I’m not going to go into much detail because I love a good twist and surprise, but shit doesn’t really hit the fan until the last fifty pages of the book or so. NOT TO WORRY, the build up to the shit hitting the fan is equally as juicy and I loved every second of seeing fictional characters’ dirty laundry being aired out for all to see. To me, this book was more of a “classic” than Girl Last Seen, I’d sooner recommend this book to anyone whereas Girl Last Seen requires a little bit more of a darker taste.
