Girl Last Seen by Nina Lauren was the first true page-turner I’ve read all year. It takes a lot for me to say that about a book because it takes a lot for me to get into a book — I’m not trying to brag, I get bored of everything way too easily. It’s not cool. Anyway, if you’re like me and it’s hard to get by the monotony of the first few chapters of a book you NEED to have patience with this one! It took me about two to three days to get a quarter of the way into the book because I’m a bitch but once I got over myself and into the story I finished this book within a day. It’s a gripping story told in the first person by this super fucked up woman (she had an even more fucked up past, so she gets a pass) sucked into a kidnapping of a local girl. The protagonist, Lainey, gets mixed up in the investigation because a decade or so prior she disappeared under the same circumstances. Literally, that’s all I can say about the plot. But it’s worth it. Like really. If you like an awesome mystery/thriller then this book is probably for you — if not, it’ll probably still be a little entertaining.
